Материалы, для изготовления электрич. контактов; имеют достат. низкое контактное и объем, электросопротивления, повыш. корроз. стойкость, износостойкость, устойчивость к эрозии под действием электрич. дуги, жаропрочность и жаростойкость. Применяются разные к. м.: металлы и сплавы, композиц. материалы, металлич. материалы со спец. покрытиями. Для контактов в цепях со слабыми токами, не подвергающихся большим механич. нагрузкам, обычно используют чистое серебро. Однако из-за высокой стоимости его часто заменяют Cu-сплавами. Если необх. обеспечить хорошие пружинные хар-ки контактов, примен. Ве-бронза. В условиях длит, эксплуатации контактов при / > 200 °С используют Cu-сплавы, содерж. тугоплавкие металлы, напр. Со или Сг. Для работы в этих условиях применяют тж. приготовл. из порошков сплавы Ag с С (графит) (3 %) и Ni (30 %). При наиб, высоких рабочих темп-pax используют композиц. материалы, сост. из Сu-матрицы с высокой электропроводностью и наполнителя — W или Мо. Для токосъемных скользящих контактов применяют графит и композиц. материал, сост. из графита и меди или ее сплавов.
